For medical malpractice & personal injury law firms, I provide knowledge-based and unbiased research & reporting.
I am skilled at identifying aspects of malpractice that can have a significant impact on a case and these aspects are often not apparent. Although a significant focus is placed on tracing deviations in the preparation, dispensing and administration of medications, the effects of medications may also play a role in an unexpected outcome, such as:
— Cumulative side effects that create unexpected responses,
— Significant drug-drug interactions that create negative responses that were not previously present,
— Significant drug-disease interactions.
Providing this information to my legal partners enables them to assess the significance of a breach in the standard of care and causation.
As a Clinical Pharmacist with advanced training, I possess the knowledge and expertise to provide opinions in cases involving medication administration and medication errors. I provide analysis and assessment of claims involving a number of pharmaceutical malpractice errors, including:
• Dispensing errors (wrong medication, dose or directions)
• Failing to recognize the effects of drug-drug and drug-disease interactions
• Failing to recognize patient’s allergies to prescribed medications
• Diversion of medications
I provide research and opinions necessary to certify if a breach in the standard of care occurred as well as opinions of causation as a result of pharmaceutical errors.
In addition to matters of negligence, I also review and analyze a patient’s health & medical history for appropriate therapies.
My expert opinions have enabled attorneys to prevail in litigation. My expert opinions have been utilized to add strength to cases in mediation and settlement negotiations. As such, I am recommended by members of The American Association of Justice on their List Servers.
I am able to provide a detailed report of my opinions in verbal or written format. All of my expert opinions are supported with references to published medical literature & journals.
I have appeared as a guest on several podcasts as an authoritative source. I have most recently spoken on topics related to Alzheimer’s Disease and the COVID-19 virus.
